Today, in the opening keynote of Microsoft Project Conference 2014, an online service called SSRS Report Enabler for Project Online was demonstrated and officially announced. The service enables Office 365 customers to create business intelligence reports using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS).
Project Online customers now have the ability to create and use powerful SSRS and SSAS database reports to gain better program visibility, reduce risk and improve ROI. The service will be available from Project Hosts later this month.
The SSRS Report Enabler works by integrating Microsoft’s Project Online cloud with Project Hosts’ SSRS Custom Cloud – creating a hybrid cloud solution offering. The SSRS Report Enabler is available as a monthly subscription service that allows companies to create and deliver SSRS and SSAS reports in a seamless, integrated manner for their users. Users can view reports from within their Office 365 interface and are typically unaware that their reports are being generated outside of Office 365.
“By integrating our SSRS Custom Cloud with Microsoft’s Project Online, we have created a service that many large enterprises, government agencies and mid-sized businesses will find extremely valuable,” said Scott Chapman, CEO and Co-Founder of Project Hosts. “The flexibility and intuitive graphical design of SSRS-based reports help executives gain visibility into the most important information they need to make good decisions around their portfolio of projects.”
The SSRS Report Enabler is also being demonstrated in Project Hosts’ booth #507 at the Project Conference, and will be available to customers in February through Microsoft’s Office 365 Marketplace.
